It was around the middle of the 19th century that Fifth Avenue became an important place. This was done thanks to Caroline Schermerhorn Astor, a local celebrity, who settled in the area. You are not very luxury brands, but rather sneakers and sport? No problem, it's at Niketown, at the intersection with 57th Street, that it's happening! In this huge Nike store you will find a lot of products, of course, but the biggest interest are the sneakers. Indeed, you will have the possibility to choose yours and to customize. Colors, materials, inscriptions, it's up to you to play and leave with a pair of unique shoes ! Enough to make great memories for athletes, for only about thirty dollars in addition to the price of the pair of your choice.

Also on Fifth Avenue, you will find the Rockefeller Center, where I recommend you to go also. You will thus discover the top of the building, the Top of the Rock, offering a splendid view of the city and the Empire State Building.

And if you're a literature lover, take a trip to the New York Public Library. No need to buy a ticket to enter, and you can enjoy a quiet moment before resuming your adventures.
Finally, see with your own eyes the wide and 100-meter-high St. Patrick's Cathedral, located across from Rockefeller Center.
Last but not least, you can finally rest after your short walk, once you arrive at Central Park. And the bonus, if the weather is nice, is that you can picnic in the grass and even take a nap! And if you are in New York in the middle of winter, go and enjoy the ice rink in the middle of the park!
